This is really your quaint local corner store. If your're trying to buy local and support local stores than start shopping at Queen Village Food Market. They carry just about everything you need. They have some interesting and tasty snacks from Turkey and always have coffee going. If your nice to the clerks, they might even ask you to stay for tea. Anyway, if your in the neighborhood and need snack, smokes or what have you, I'd highly recommend you stop in to the Food Market before you head over to Acme...

| | : I was just at the Pink Rose Cafe at 4th and Bainbridge and saw a sign on the vacant store across the street (the old clothing store at the northeast corner of the intersection) saying "Coming Soon: Queen Village Food Market." It seems like an independent wawa-type of store, like the one on 4th and Catharine. Does anyone know more?

| | : I'm glad something I can actually use is opening up here. I have a feeling it will have a little trouble with 8-12, philadeli, and wawa just a stones throw away, but those places have all let me down so I'm willing to give it a try.

| | : I'm confused...how does a place like philadeli or 8-12 let you down? They are the same as any little corner store in NY, Chicago, Baltimore, Miami, or any other city(except in Miami they are all filled with goya and nothing else).
They carry a limited amount of crap for the sq. footage they have and you take it or leave it and go to the grocery store which isn't a convenience store because it is not within a 5 block radius.
This one will be the same or worse since the building is about 1/2 the sq. footage of 8-12.
